Do I need to bring anything to the in-studio course?

Students will be required to bring a laptop and other requirements will be notified before the course.

Where should I stay in Nottingham?

Nottingham is a beautiful city, home to none other than the legendary Robin Hood! The city centre is around 10 minutes drive away from NDA, so ours is so the perfect place to see the sights of Nottingham. However, if you would prefer somewhere closer to the academy, there are plenty of other options. A list of our preferred places to stay is available here.

Will I be able to contact my tutor during the 6 week break?

Yes, as with our online courses, our tutors are available to be contacted 5 days a week from 9am – 5pm via email, phone or Skype. Individual face-to-face meetings at the Academy are also possible with your tutor but these need to be arranged in advance. Your tutor will be more than happy to help with any queries you may have surrounding your final project or the course modules in general.

How many students will be on the course?

We are passionate about delivering high quality courses to our students which is why we cap the number of students who can attend each course. We believe that students learn better and quicker in a smaller group and so the largest size in-studio course we will offer would be 14 students. These courses are offered on a first-come first- served basis, so it is better to enrol early to avoid disappointment.

Do you get many international students on the course?

Yes , our in-studio courses are popular with international and UK students alike. In fact we regularly get students from as far away as Nigeria and India as well as those closer to Nottingham! The mix of students often helps to create a wonderfully friendly and dynamic class. The views on design will vary according to which country or culture a student is from, which always makes for a great in-class discussion.

I’m not sure whether to enrol on an in-studio or online course…
can I discuss my options with someone?

Yes - of course, our offices are open Monday-Friday from 9am – 5pm and we are always happy to take some time out to discuss a student’s various different options, either on the phone, via email or face-to-face. We have a number of expert tutors who work full time in our head office in Nottingham and who would be more than happy to discuss the benefits of our different course options. We also run monthly Open Days which offer you an in-depth view of all of our courses and gives you a chance to talk through your different options with our passionate and design enthusiast, Director of Studies; Anthony Rayworth.
