The National Design Academy in Dubai

Rola and Kevin

Kevin Riley (Director at NDA) and Rola al-Zobai (Recruitment Manager at NDA).

There are exciting times ahead for all here at the National Design Academy with our Dubai plans quickly evolving. Pauline Riley, Academy Director, popped over to Dubai this week to meet our overseas recruitment manager, Rola al-Zobai to take a look around the new NDA office based in the Knowledge Village, Dubai.

Below we hear from Rola al-Zobai to find out all about the exciting plans for the National Design Academy in the UAE.

“Over the past few years we have seen substantially increased numbers of students enrolling on one of our many interior design courses here at the National Design Academy. In the UAE, education is highly considered, consequently, our MA Interior Design is one of the most popular course options for the UAE student audience.

As a company, we believe in offering all of our students the highest level of support and service which is why we have made a conscious decision to branch out further afield and open an office in Dubai. This will not only allow us to add a more personal and supportive service to our existing students in this area of the world but also help to answer any questions or queries that potential students may be contemplating.

We are happy to announce that we have just secured the premises for the Dubai office for which I will be a permanent member of staff. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all Dubai based students to pop in and say hello or contact me if you have any questions regarding a National Design Academy course, I am always more than happy to help. The official opening date of the Dubai office will be announced in the New Year so watch this space!”

Rola al-Zobai’s Profile

Rola completed a BA (Hons) Interior Architecture and Design at the American Intercontinental University in London and has worked in architecture and design offices in Europe and the Middle East. She is now studying for her MA in Interior Design with the NDA. Rola is fluent in French, Dutch, Arabic and English and is skilled in the use of AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe and Rhino.

Rola initially joined the National Design Academy as a design tutor for diploma and degree level students. However, following our increased levels of student interest from the Middle East it was decided that Rola’s design skills coupled with her bi-lingual capabilities made her the perfect representative to be based in our new Dubai office.”

We wish Rola every success in her new role and hope you find this new UAE based office an invaluable edition to the NDA offering.
