About Nicoletta’s course: The Diploma in Curtain Making & Soft Furnishings
The Diploma in Curtain Making & Soft Furnishings is one of our more specialised qualifications here at the National Design Academy. The diploma is ideal for students who are interested in understanding the fundamentals of curtain making, those who want to be able to tackle personal projects or for those who want to pursue a career in the curtain making and soft furnishings industry.
The key modules covered in the course range from understanding how to measure & design window treatments, to construction techniques through to business advice to start your own company. The Diploma in Curtain Making & Soft Furnishings course is designed to provide students with an accredited qualification as well as the knowledge and the confidence required to start a business or to undertake personal projects for family and friends. Or alternatively, the course can also offer students a pathway to further study.

Our AIM accredited Curtain making and Soft furnishing course gives students the skills to design and produce many different window treatments and soft furnishings whilst on the course. Not only does the course gives students the opportunity to enhance their own homes, it also gives them the skills to start up a business, or the ‘know how’ to produce high quality products for clients, it is also the first step for those students who want to purse an interior designer career too.
If you are passionate about becoming an interior designer and want to be able to offer all end to end services to a client, being able to make curtain and blinds is an additional benefit. This is a popular course that many of our Interior Design Diploma student’s go on to study or one that many undertake before advancing onto further study at FdA and BA level.
