Cheryl Brierley-Duff has been chosen as our ‘Student of the Month’ for her final project submission for her BA (Hons) Design for Outdoor Living.
About Cheryl’s course: BA (Hons) Design for Outdoor Living
The BA (Hons) Design for Outdoor Living course is the ideal pathway for students who want a career as a professional interior designer with a specialist interest in outdoor spaces. The course gives students the skills to professionally approach design projects, as well as providing students with an impressive qualification to add to a CV, which is essential when looking to build a career in the design market. This course is also ideal for those students who have already successfully completed the Diploma in Professional Interior Design Skills with the National Design Academy, or those who have a previous qualification in a relevant subject, or who have relevant industry experience.
The core modules covered in the full BA honours degree aim to shape student’s mind set and knowledge in order to be able to complete
the design projects in an accurate, creative and timely manner, whilst meeting the exact specifications of their client brief. Whilst undertaking the course students will also be given the opportunity to focus on specific elements such as designing for exhibitions or hotels.
What Cheryl’s tutor says…
Undertaking a final independent study project can be very overwhelming, however Cheryl has embraced her creativity and accentuated her design skills to produce a professionally presented project to industry standards.
Cheryl has explored and investigated the implementation of sensory experiences within green public spaces to encourage community interaction, which led to her concept development and the creation of her final scheme. Her concept is a mixture of art, imagination and discovery with a design proposal that has been inspired by ‘Alice Through The Looking Glass.’ I am very proud of Cheryl’s achievements and how she has progressed through the course. From everyone here at the NDA, congratulations and we look forward to seeing you at Graduation in July.
