NDA is 25 years old this year and celebrations are being planned for June!
We have come a long way from the early beginnings of 1 day workshops in decorative paint finishes. These grew into 1 week courses and it was the standard of student work that led the Director to approach the Open College Network OCN to gain national validation for the 3 diploma programmes. These programmes have undergone many metamorphoses over the past 25 years to emerge as the AIM Diplomas offered today.
In 2008, following student demand, a progression route was provided for Diploma students to move onto a Foundation Degree, enabling them to enter higher education, the first online flexible interior design package in the country.
Since then NDA has continued to lead the way developing the first BA (Hons) online programme in Interior Design and then producing the first FdA’s and BA’s in Retail Design, Heritage Interior Design and Design for Outdoor Living. This year has been rounded off with the first MA in Interior Design through online learning.
