24 Karat Blau

This light was designed by manipulating the wavelengths of the spectrum!
The gold leaf on the shades of this lamp, produced by Ingo Maurer, is beaten to a thickness of 1/10,000th mm, corresponding to 1,000 atomic layers. This allows short wave blue light to pass through the molecules whereas longer wave yellow-gold light is reflected. Therefore, the inner surface of the lamp appears gold when lit, the outer surface appears blue.

What is UK Government Funding?

UK students pay approximately 50% of the full course fee – the balance is funded by the UK Government’s Adult education budget (AEB).

The National Design Academy is the only design school to be able to offer this funding as our Diplomas are all fully accredited by AIM Qualifications.
