Michael Barnes has always been interested in different elements of design, studying various subjects during his A-levels but after buying his first property in December, his interest in Interior Design escalated.

Being in the new build property market he’s regularly showing customers around showhomes advising what layouts work best and discussing needs and desires for their properties.

His primary goals are to further his knowledge of Interior Design and increase his skills in planning a room layout. He would really like to learn about the professional side of things such as setting up a design practice, creating his own niche and becoming confident with presenting his ideas to potential clients.

Michael told us:

[su_quote style=”default” cite=”” url=”” class=””]During my time on the course, I’ve learnt so much more than I could have ever imagined. Both the students and my tutor Ruth have given me guidance throughout the process which has made the course enjoyable and informative. I hope to one day set up professionally and the knowledge and advice I’ve received during the course have made me gain confidence in my work and gain confidence as a designer. Module 5 in itself seemed like the turning point of the course as it allowed me to start focusing and designing on a larger scale. I’m looking forward to the next module and hopefully continuing on the BA top up.[/su_quote]
