Interior Design Trade Events
Spring and autumn are the seasons for visiting trade exhibitions and other interior design-related events. It is highly recommended that you visit these exhibitions – with your business cards of course – and begin to get yourself known on the international design circuit. As you begin to appear on mailing lists you will, in turn, begin to be invited to product launches, showroom events, private views and other networking opportunities.
Below are some of the best events to attend and don’t forget to look on the BIID website for other events such as CPD or Industry Seminars which are usually free to Student Members of the BIID. www.biid.org.uk

The Society of Garden Designers also hosts a number of events throughout the year, most of which are open to their student members www.sgd.org.uk The next major event is their Spring conference Into The Long Grass which is all about using grasses in the garden. As their website indicates …
“Using ornamental grasses in planting design started back in the late 19th century. Since then enthusiasm for the extra dimension and particular qualities they bring to planting schemes has waxed and waned. Grasses have gone through fashionable periods: from the renowned Karl Foerster to the new perennial movement of the 80s and 90s, through the bold romantic gardens of Oehme and van Sweden, steppes, prairies and meadows. Now, grasses are a distinctive part of our planting palette.”

“Using ornamental grasses in planting design started back in the late 19th century.” It’s works until now I think about the usage of ornamental grasses.
