Student support

27 years providing distance learning courses for interior design and other design related subjects has taught us that every student is different and that every student needs individual support. Often juggling family commitments, full-time or part-time work, adult students have to overcome many extra challenges before they can study.

You will be allocated your own personal tutor, who will assess your assignments and provide you with helpful feedback throughout your course. You can contact your tutor directly at any time via VLS mail. Individual tutorials with your tutor can be arranged by appointment, either face to face or by telephone or Skype. We also have a lively student forum - so you never need to feel alone out of office hours.

If you want help and need to speak to a tutor urgently, you'll be actively encouraged to call our student helpline. Our experienced tutors will be on hand to advise you on any element of your course. 9am–5pm, 5 days per week.

Individual learning needs

Some students may have an individual learning need or disability requiring extra support or consideration. Our student support team can help to arrange assessments and advise on how to access grants to help with study. They will arrange an individual learning plan to suit your needs, if required.
