Become an NDA Tutor!

NDA Course Graduates

Why not use your qualifications and passion for design to teach?

Work flexibly from home or in our Nottingham Studios and help other NDA students to develop their skills and achieve their qualifications.

NDA has been celebrating student success for over 30 years, and as our student numbers continue to grow we need to expand our Tutor team. We are looking for outstanding part-time tutors to work flexibly from home or to assist in our Nottingham Studios. Also full-time and part-time degree tutors to support & assess NDA degree students. Full training will be given. Ideally we intend to recruit from our alumni of well-qualified NDA course graduates, who have themselves studied an NDA Diploma or Degree course.
Who better to teach our new students than those who have studied the course themselves!

Part-time Trainee Tutors Required

How does a part-time tutor work?

The Tutor position will be part-time and flexible, in the same way you studied with NDA.  You will be able to work from home and as this will be online through the VLS. You will however, be required to attend our monthly Tutor meetings in Nottingham to share ideas, help you keep up to date and for further standardisation & training.

There are also opportunities to assist with teaching Diplomas In-Studio (for which you will need to live within easy travelling distance of our Nottingham studios) and our new Fast-Track Diplomas, delivered online via Zoom.

If you have completed or are due to complete any of the NDA Professional Diploma, BA (Hons) or Master’s Degree courses we would love to hear from you.

What is the workload and income?

You will be responsible for a group of students as their named Tutor. Your income will be based on the number of students you support depending upon the time you have available. This can be just a few hours each week to working on a full time basis. Ideally you should be able to respond to student emails on a daily basis, even if you are only available for a limited numbers of hours.

Using the VLS, you will assess and mark student assignments, respond to emails, provide written feedback and generally support NDA students through their course, just as your NDA Tutor supported you.

Studying or completed an NDA degree course?

The National Design Academy is also looking for outstanding full-time and part-time trainee degree tutors, to work within our tutor team in Nottingham, to support & assess NDA students. Full training will be given.
