Terms & Conditions
Studio Courses
For studio courses, where a deposit is paid with enrolment, the balance of the course fee is due 30 days prior to the course. The number of students per course is limited, therefore once Tutors have been contracted and fees incurred, course fees cannot be refunded. Students are advised to insure themselves against the loss of their course fees in case of accident or illness. However, we will attempt to transfer a student onto a later course, provided that we receive notice of this request in writing at least 14 days before the course and a £50 administration charge will be made.
Diploma Home Study Courses
Due to the volume of administration involved with enrolling and registering a student for funding, enrolment / registration fees cannot be refunded. Once registration paperwork and the Initial Assignment is completed, a student will be deemed to have started the course. Should a student fail to start or complete their course, resulting in the withdrawal of grant funding, then a cancellation fee of £69 will be charged & payment deducted or invoiced. Students aged 16, 17 & 18 years will be refunded their enrolment fee when they have completed the course - a parent must sign their enrolment form and agree to the terms of enrolment. On request, those claiming certain benefits will be refunded their enrolment fee once they have completed their course. Evidence of benefit entitlement must be provided at enrolment and completion. The Academy reserves the right to make any changes to any course content or programme if necessary, including the cancellation of any studio course, with full refund offered to the student. The Academy cannot be held responsible for any changes to LSC funding criteria imposed after enrolment. All bookings received by the Academy, whether for studio courses or home study, made on-line or by post, are accepted only on the basis that these terms of enrolment apply to everyone. This brochure is intended as a guide to course content only. Please note that in instances where cheques are not honoured the appropriate bank charge will be passed on to the student. The NOCN Qualification Fee for this National Diploma can be paid in stages on request. Qualification fees are paid to NOCN to cover registration, administration, moderation & certification of your national qualification.
Foundation Degree & BA/BA Honours Degree Courses
Once you have enrolled onto your course, you have seven days in which to change your mind. If you telephone to inform us of your decision you must then confirm this in writing, not by email. Your course fee will be refunded to you less an administration fee of £50. To help our students, the total course fees have been split into 10 monthly payments for the FdA or BA (Hons). Students using the extended payment plan are liable for all payments per level should they cancel. All students must have paid the total course fee in full before their final degree marks can be confirmed. The NDA course fee (or student top-up fee) is considerably lower than the recommended fee charged by most universities (£1,200+p.a.) and therefore, does not cover the cost of your course. We rely on funding to subsidise the cost of your tuition. Should you cancel your course, then the funding is also cancelled and we cannot transfer your place to another student. Therefore, course fees cannot be refunded under any circumstances. Should you be unable to attend a pre-booked Module Workshop, providing we receive 14 days notice in writing, the Workshop fee will be transferred, less 10% administration fee.
