Terms & Conditions
IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY FOR ALL COURSE BOOKINGS
All Courses
The prospectus and website are intended as a guide to course content and studio dates only. The National Design Academy (NDA) reserves the right to make any changes to course content or programme if necessary, including the cancellation of any studio course or workshop with full refund offered to the student.
All enrolments received by the NDA are accepted only on the basis that these terms & conditions apply to everyone. Certificates for any course will only be issued if all course fees have been received in full.
Once you enrol onto your course, you have fourteen days in which to change your mind. This must be confirmed to NDA in writing even if you telephone us first. Your course fee will be refunded less an administration fee of £50. After fourteen days, a student is deemed to have started the course. Due to the volume of administration involved with the enrolment and registration of a student, course fees / registration fees / qualification fees cannot be refunded after this point.
Extended Payment Plans: Although course fees are due in full before the start of a course, as a concession, students may pay fees by monthly instalments. However, students are still liable to make all instalment payments, even if they withdraw from their course or fail to attend.
Instalment payments will be collected on 1st day of each month. For enrolments before the 20th of the month, the first instalment will start on 1st of the following month, for enrolments after 20th the first instalment will be one month later. Charges for unpaid cheques or declined card payments will be passed on to the student. Changes to start dates will not alter the schedule of payment.
FdA/BA Honours/MA Degree Courses
Extended Payment Plan: Fees are due in full before the start of each degree level. However, as a concession, students may pay fees by ten equal monthly instalments per level of the FdA, BA (Hons) or MA. Students are still liable to pay every instalment for a degree level even if they withdraw from the course or fail to submit assignments.
Student Loans: If you intend to pay for your degree course via a student loan you should follow the link to Student Finance England on the NDA degree enrolment page. It is the responsibility of the student to provide evidence to NDA that a loan has been applied for, as your NDA enrolment cannot be finalised without this evidence. Students in receipt of a part-time student loan must study at least 25% of a full time equivalent per year (i.e. between 1-4 modules depending upon your start date). Should a Student not start all of their planned modules, part of their student loan will be clawed back by Student Finance England. The Student will then be responsible for any unpaid fees. An Individual Learning Plan will be agreed with you.
Diploma Courses
All Diploma fees include an administration fee of £50 and AIM Awards Qualification of Fees of £105; paid to AIM to cover registration, administration, moderation and certification of your national qualification.
The NDA cannot be held responsible for any changes to college funding criteria imposed after enrolment. College funded students must complete their course within 12 months of the start date. Should a student not complete by the due date; resulting in the withdrawal of their funding, they will be responsible for the unpaid balance of fees; less any funding received.
Fee remission - it is the responsibility of the student to provide the appropriate benefits evidence at the start of their course; by the date requested. Students qualifying for fee remission pay the administration charge of £50; fully refundable on timely completion.
Students paying the full cost (non-funded) have 24 months to complete their course; from the start date of their first unit.
Studio Based Courses
Where a deposit is paid on enrolment, the balance of the course fee is due in full 30 days before attending the course. The number of students per course is limited; therefore once Tutors have been contracted to teach, course fees cannot be refunded. Students are advised to insure themselves against the loss of their course fees in case of accident or illness. If a student is unable to attend they can be transferred to a later course if a transfer request is received in writing, 14 days before the original course date. A £50 administration charge will be made per transfer.
Workshops:
Where a student is unable to attend a pre-booked workshop, providing NDA receives 14 days notice in writing, the Workshop fee will be transferred, less a £10 administration fee.
